Destroy the Table: Speeches at the 7/20/20 #BLM Action

On July 20th, Terril “Goochie” Cotton organized his third Black Lives Matter demonstration in downtown Ypsilanti. When asked if he is ever going to stop organizing protests he responded, “I don’t want to—if I could I’d do it everyday.”

What’s Left captured 2 speeches from the action in the video above. In his speech, HH Gonzalez connects the Black Lives Matter movement to the need for class-based organizing work, modern oppression’s roots in slavery, and the carceral system. HH includes a call to action for this coming Sunday, July 26th to join him for a night of education and tenant’s rights at the Sycamore Meadows.
